Soaring into Strength Workshops - Kara

Soaringwords’ SOARING into Strength Positive Health Initiative 2020-2021

 

Kara is proud to be a community partner with Soaringwords.  From October 2020 through September 2021 we will be offering 24 (two per month) virtual SOARING into Strength Positive Health Workshops that have been designed to enhance mental health and wellness.

These free online workshops hosted by Soaringwords with the support of the Sobrato Family Foundation provide Positive Psychology tools to mitigate burn-out and fatigue to enhance mental, physical and emotional well-being, so you can better care for yourselves. The program will also provide skills you need to experience meaning, agency, altruism and hope in the face of everyday challenges of poverty, illness, housing and food insecurity, addiction, unemployment, and mental health challenges.  You can view the entire 12 month (Oct 20 – Sep 21) schedule here.

January 21st (12 noon)  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (view flyer)
Talking back to your thoughts based on the work of Dr. Aaron Beck. Learn 15 foundational interventions to move from rumination to taking the right next step.

January 26th (12 noon)  Self-Compassion & Forgiveness (view flyer)
Learn how to activate self-compassion and overcome negative thoughts and quiet your inner-critic in order to experience more wellness, based on the work of Dr. Kristin Neff. You’ll also learn how the healing power of forgiveness is not what you think based on the work of Dr. Kathi Norman.
