Spring 2022 Mindful Self-Compassion Course

Mindful Self-Compassion ~ A Six Week Online Course 

Join Judy and Hilary for a virtual course in mindful self-compassion. Learn how to support and encourage yourself when facing challenges. Through teachings and experiential exercises, you’ll plant the seeds of compassion in your own heart and in community with others.

Build and enhance your capacity to :

  • Cultivate compassion for oneself and others
  • Handle overwhelming emotions with greater ease
  • Approach difficult situations with more calm and clarity
  • Reconnect with values that help in finding purpose

About the Facilitators

Judy Long is an out-patient palliative care chaplain (neurology and oncology) at UCSF, and an educator with the UCSF MERI Center for Education in Palliative Care. She is a teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT senior teacher), Resiliency for People with Serious Illness, and Sustainable Caregiving for their Care Partners. She offers special presentations on request. Judy also serves on the Chaplaincy Council at Insight Meditation Center.

Hilary Borison is a Hakomi trained practitioner, trained teacher in Mindful Self-Compassion and Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness, and graduate of the Sati Center Chaplaincy Program which she applies in her peer grief support work at Kara. Since 2004 she has practiced mindfulness at Insight Meditation Center in Redwood City where she facilitates the Women’s Circle of Mindfulness, leads the family program, and serves as a mentor in the 8FoldPath Program.
