This peer support group is intended to provide a safe and supportive environment to process and explore your grief. The Immigrant Parent Loss Group is open to adults with multicultural identities who have experienced loss of a parent in the U.S. or abroad.
We will explore the following in a closed group setting:
This group will be a hybrid group that will meet Tuesday afternoons from 2-3:30pm for 10 sessions beginning October 1, 2024 and running through January 14, 2025 on the dates listed below. The first two sessions, along with the final session, will meet in person at Kara. The middle seven sessions will meet via zoom.
We acknowledge engaging in grief can be challenging, and we have found that consistency is vital in the healing process. Our counselors and the other group participants are committing their time to the group process and support, so we ask that you check the dates against your calendar and be prepared to commit to attending all the sessions before confirming your participation in the group. Interested individuals should contact us by September 13th. For information about what to expect from a Kara group, click HERE. Please review it as a means to inform your decision about participation in the group.
