Spring 2020 – Meadowlark Fathers’ Retreat

Sharing Compassion & Wisdom  – The weekend retreat is designed specifically for fathers who have suffered the death of a child. It provides participants a safe place to share their stories, experiences, emotions, and learned wisdom with other bereaved dads. It offers an opportunity for healing, respite, compassion, support and community with other fathers on a similar journey.  The retreat is a program of the Tim Griffith Foundation and is facilitated by Kara grief counselors. An application is required.

I’ve just attended the first Retreat for Grieving Fathers a few weeks ago and it was transformational, supportive, difficult, challenging and spiritual – all at the same time. Finding peers who were willing to discuss the depths of the sorrow and grief encountered in the loss of a child, and finding so much common ground in the methods and mechanisms we tried successfully and unsuccessfully to make sense of it all was invaluable.
