Development Manager (Full Time Position)

Kara is seeking an individual who desires to be an integral team member of a unique organization that has delivered healing to the community for over 40 years. As Kara’s Development Manager, you will work directly with the Executive Director and play an essential role in the management and oversight of key fundraising activities and the successful implementation of the annual development plan to support Kara’s grief support services. This includes individual, event-related, and institutional fundraising to generate revenue in support of an agency budget of $1.2M, of which 80% is derived from contributed income. A passion for our mission of serving the bereaved combined with proven skills in development and fundraising are keys for success.

Youth & Family Services Associate (Part Time Position)

Do you have a passion for our mission of serving the bereaved combined with administrative and operational support skills  The Youth & Family Services Associate will work under the supervision of the Youth and Family Services Director to ensure efficient and effective operational and administrative support for all client services, including on-going peer groups, bereavement camp (Camp Erin), and the school-based grief support initiative.

Serving the San Francisco Bay Area since 1976, Kara provides comprehensive grief support, crisis response and education to individuals and communities facing the difficult realities of death and dying. Serving more than 5,000 individuals in 2016, Kara provides a wide breadth of grief support and education services to the community including: individual and group peer support; in-house psychotherapy; on-site crisis intervention; bereavement education and training services; Camp Erin, a bereavement camp for children 6-17 years old; and community events.
