Walk 3 miles in memory of loved ones
and raise funds to help those who are grieving.
This is an opportunity to honor those who have been significant
in your life. You may walk as an individual or as part of a team.
Many teams create personalized t-shirts commemorating loved ones.
This is a community event an opportunity to walk with others
who have experienced the multitude of emotions that go with loss.
This is also an opportunity to support the programs and services
of Kara. Please help us raise much-needed funds by soliciting sponsorships
from your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. While entry
fees cover administrative and event planning/production costs, the
support of individual sponsors provide income to enable Kara to
support bereaved clients to heal at their own pace as they face
the death or terminal illness of someone close to them.
Individual walkers are encouraged
to gather as many sponsors as possible for your own walk. Its
easier than you think

Or go one step further, and
become a team leader
Use the Power of Ten.
STEP 1: Sign up to be a team captain with a goal of recruiting
at least ten team members.
STEP 2: Recrui9t at least ten walkers for your team. Ask
everyone you know friends, family, co-workers, neighbors
to walk with you. Let them know that they will be honoring
your loved one and are encouraged to name those in their own lives
who theyd like to honor as well.
STEP 3: Encourage each of your ten-plus walkers to sign
up at least ten sponsors each for $10 or more a piece.
There you have it
the Power of Ten.
10 teams x 10 members x 10 sponsors x $10 each = $10,000 to support
Kara programs and services!

or teen to Karas Camp Erin. Families pay nothing to send
their children and teens to Camp Erin. Nearly 60 campers attended
this years Camp Erin.
- $500 is an amount that relates to supporting a Kara client
in the Adult Program for six months with one-to-one peer counseling
or participation in a grief group. Kara serves over 160 adult
clients each year.

our Outreach Team to train ten school teachers. Kara provides

Kara is the Gothic root of the word "care."
It means to reach out, to care, to lament, to grieve with.
